FALL SEASON
PA Crew's fall season starts in early September and runs through mid-November. Practices take place five days a week, weather permitting. The team's launch site is located on the grounds of our host's home which is located in the beautiful Thalia Gardens neighborhood. On any given day, rain or shine, you will find Princess Anne Crew rowing up and down the Thurston Branch of the Lynnhaven River.
WINTER CONDITIONING
During the winter months, focus turns to improving each rower's stroke technique while increasing his / her endurance and strength. Practice on the water is typically reduced to two days a week due to weather and daylight constraints. The rest of the week is spent either on a rowing machine (erg) at our regular practice site or at a local gymnasium.
SPRING SEASON
The chilly months of January and February do not stop this crew team from preparing for the spring season. Practices on the water will increase as weather allows and it is at this time that those with similar rowing skills will find themselves rowing in the same boat. In March the team returns to the water full time weather permitting. PA Crew competes in 4 to 5 regattas in the spring culminating in an end-of-the-season regatta in Mathews, VA.
